additional Home Learning Activities
As we once again find ourselves having to close the school to the majority of our pupils, it is vital that we work together in order to ensure that your children can continue to progress along their learning journey. This time, we have the advantage of using now-established online learning platforms, with which all children and most parents are now familiar.
If your child is in Nursery or Reception, they will be set daily learning challenges via Tapestry. If you have any concerns about accessing this platform, please contact the EYFS team or firstname.lastname@example.org email address.
For children in Key Stages 1 and 2, learning will be set on Google Classrooms, as has been the case for their homework and isolation learning throughout the Autumn term. Both Tapestry and Google Classrooms can be accessed on any internet-enabled device and there is no expectation that children print learning materials at home.
Please see our home learning letter sent out 4th January via Parentmail for details of how to access these learning platforms. If you have any difficulties in accessing these learning platforms, please get in touch to see if we can help you.
Below you can find some additional activities to support home learning that may be of interest.
safeguarding arrangements during school closure
If you have an urgent concern about the safety or welfare of your child, or someone else's, during the current school closure, please contact Customer First immediately via https://cypportal.suffolk.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/home. If your concern is not urgent but you would like to speak to a member of school staff, please contact the school DSL team at email@example.com and we will respond as soon as possible.
If you think you may need help feeding your family during the closure, please contact Suffolk FIND for advice regarding food parcels.
If you are concerned for your child's mental health and wellbeing during this period, please visit the Emotional Wellbeing Gateway via the link below.
Remember that it is vital that all of us, children and adults, are following social-distancing guidelines at this time. Please ensure that your child is at home with you or with a safe and trusted adult. We realise that many children will be staying in touch with their friends via online gaming, messaging and social media sites. Please be mindful of the potential dangers online and ensure that you are continually checking and monitoring your child's internet usage.

Suffolk Parent Carer Network (SPCN)
SPCN are supporting parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and/or disabilities in Suffolk in a number of ways during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Covid-19 / Coronavirus information pack for families
Families have told SPCN that the Covid-19 outbreak is a really worrying time for them and they have asked for resources to help them talk to their children and young people about it as well as needing strategies to support their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Working with SENsational families in Norfolk and education, health and care services, SPCN have produced an information and resource pack for families that is available to download or be posted out in a printed format.
In partnership with SENsational Families, SPCN have put together a mix of free online resources to help keep children and young people occupied at home over the coming weeks.
SPCN are providing peer-to-peer support if parents and carers need someone to talk to, or if they or their child/young person are struggling or if they have specific questions about where/how to access other support. They are signposting any health-related issues regarding Coronavirus to official sources. Please see contact details below.
Family Support boxes
The SPCN team are sending out family support boxes for children/young people with any additional need and/or disability, (diagnosed or not) and their siblings and also contain information for parents and carers about how to support children and young people and other support organisations that are available. These boxes are personised to each family and can contain a range of items. They are available free to any parent / carer / guardian / foster carers who are members of SPCN and they simply have to email firstname.lastname@example.org with the request. SPCN are accepting new members who will then be able to ask for the free family support box.
