Medical Needs

At Gusford Primary School, we want every child to feel healthy, happy, and ready to learn each day.

Whenever possible, we ask that medication is given at home. However, we understand that sometimes children may need to take medicine while they’re at school.

If this is the case, please complete a Medication Permission Form and bring the medication to school yourself. All medicines should be in their original, labelled container and handed to a member of staff in the front office.

We keep all medication safely in the fridge in the school office and make sure it’s given exactly as directed. Medication can stay at school if needed or be collected by an adult at the end of the day.

Please note: all asthma inhalers and epi-pens are kept in the class first aid box so they are always accessible if needed.

We keep an emergency asthma reliever and epi-pen in the front office.

All schools have a defibrillator. Ours is also kept in the front entrance.

If your child needs an  individual care plan please let us know and we can discus this with our lead First Aider or SENDCo in school

Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and well.
